“Bishara’s Tea” with Arabian Spices
“Bishara’s tea” is not only healthy and soothing, but it tastes great and takes only a few minutes to make. After making the tea in a small pot, you can transfer it to a glass jar and keep it in the refrigerator to drink anytime you wish.
Ingredients:
Boiled water
Your favorite tea, whether it is loose tea leaves or tea bag/bags
Cinnamon sticks or cinnamon powder
Mint leaves — fresh or dried
Ginger root or dried ginger powder
Cardamom seeds or cardamom powder
Directions:
- Boil two quarts of water in a pot.
- Add a teaspoon of your favorite loose tea leaves, or 1-2 tea bag(s).
- Let the tea boil and stir for a minute.
- Add a 2-inch long cinnamon stick, or ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon powder to the mixture.
- Leave the mixture on the stove for 30 seconds.
- Add either fresh or dried mint to taste.
- Add a very small bit of mashed ginger root, or an 1/8 of teaspoon of ginger powder.
- Add 4 or 5 seeds of cardamom or 1/8 teaspoon of cardamom powder.
- Put the stove on simmer for a couple of minutes,
- Then serve yourself with a smile.
Now some of you may ask why do we need to add all of these ingredients to the tea. Well, cinnamon is good for your heart. Mint keeps your breath fresh. Ginger is good for relaxing your muscles and as an anti-inflammatory, and cardamom is good for your digestive system. Try it once, you will like it. Try it twice and you are hooked 😊.
